As part of the celebrations for Teachers Day 2022, UGC will introduce a number of fellowship programmes today.

The launch event is set for 3 p.m. today and will be live streamed on the official Twitter and YouTube channels.

The UGC will launch three Research Grant Schemes for newly recruited, in-service, and retired faculty, according to an official statement.

Along with the research grant schemes, the UGC will also launch two fellowship programmes for postdoctoral students, one of which will be exclusively for female students.

Research Grant for in-service Faculty Member – Tenure: 2 Year – Target Audience: In-service Faculty Member

Dr DS Kothari Research Grant for Newly Recruited – Tenure: 2 Year – Target Audience: Post-doctoral students in the field of sciences, medical and engineering sciences.

Fellowship for Superannuated Faculty Member – Tenure: 3 Year – Target Audience: Superannuated Faculty Members engaged in research and teaching programme

These programmes will be introduced on the occasion of Teachers Day 2022, which is observed on September 5th of that year (2022).

Earlier in the day, President Draupadi Murmu will present 46 teachers with the National Teachers Awards 2022 for their contributions to nation building.
